Are you maximising your profits from your soft drinks? According to the soft drinks report most consumers simply revert to the old favourites of cola and lemonade because little else is offered but “83% of customers would appreciate a more interesting recommendation”. So by being a little creative with your products you can add real value to your outlet by offering them something they just don’t get anywhere else. Of course bottles can help here but they take up room in the fridge, lead to waste and recycling costs, and margins are better with draught. So having some more interesting draught soft drinks such as Ginger Beer, Sarsaparilla or Sicilian Lemonade can help you win on a number of levels. Most importantly you need to let your customers know the selection you have on offer. So here’s four ways of doing this..

  1. Make sure your staff offer it to customers – sounds easy, but in a busy environment it’s very hit and miss
  2. Draught dispense options that stand on the bar in the same way as beer taps. See an example opposite of a tap we did for Smack Deli
  3. Promote the flavours on boards and other marketing literature, especially menus.
  4. Dispense them manually in creative ways. For example we supplied Pie Minister with a large Kilner jug to dispense our Sicilian Lemonade. Also see below for a great set up that Boston Tea Party use.

The main point is that you can offer your customers something more interesting that will surprise and delight them and which you can charge a little more for. By using our syrups and special flavours you can deliver this experience to customers simply and at a great margin.
